New BMPCA Director Appointed
Following Richard Welburn’s retirement in November 2006, Robert Ruddlestone has been appointed Director BMPCA. Robert previously worked for Corus and it’s predecessors for 42 years. He is a qualified metallurgist and member of the Institute of Materials Minerals and Mining. He held positions in the technical department in his early career mainly associated with Steelmaking, Primary and Secondary Rolling. In 1987 he was appointed Manager Aldwarke Bloomcasters and was responsible for the plant commissioning and start up, subsequently running the operation for six years. Following on from this he was appointed Works Manager at the Stocksbridge site of Corus Engineering Steels in1994 and apart from a short spell as Works Manager at the Aldwarke site he remained at Stocksbridge until 2006.
