Annual BMPCA Lunch 2006

The BMPCA annual lunch was held on 8th November at the Merchant Taylors Hall in the City of London.

Around 180 BMPCA members and their guests from all areas of the steel and aluminium industries attended the event.

The new Chairman of the British Metallurgical Plant Constructors' Association, Peter Kobayashi (Managing Director of Danieli UK), reviewed the business situation during 2006. He thanked Richard Welburn, who wil retire at the end of December for his work as Director of the Association over the past 5 years.

Responding, Richard Welburn thanked members for their support and believed that the Association's management and finances were in better condition that when he took over the job. He proposed the toast to the future success of the BMPCA.

Members and their guests were then entertained by Patrick Tansey, who acted as an imposter, pretending to be a representative of the EU Enterprise Directorate. before revealing his true identity as as an after-lunch speaker.
