The Association

The British Manufacturing Plant Constructors' Association (BMPCA) is made up of companies involved in all aspects of metallurgical equipment. involved in all aspects of metallurgical equipment from the design and supply of melting furnaces, rolling mills, process lines and inspections systems, to engineering services such as installation, consulting, maintenance and consumable equipment for the world's iron, steel and non-ferrous metal industries.

The Association serves as the metal industries forum in which members can identify common opportunities, devise strategy for maximising the benefit from them and act as a united body to implement the strategy.

The BMPCA represents the substantial majority of UK companies involved in supply of melting furnaces, rolling mills, process lines and inspections systems, installation engineering and services such as consulting, maintenance and consumables. The Association is in a strong position to assist in ensuring that:

• International agreements on trade are monitored in the light of their impact on the supply and manufacturing sectors of the industry.

• British companies operating overseas receive the same treatment as foreign companies enjoy in Britain.

• Assistance from the British Government is designed to match the financial packages offered by international competitors.

• Legislators, whether in London, Brussels or elsewhere, are aware of the effects on the industry by proposed legislation.

• Technical standards and safety measures are monitored, as appropriate.

Regular meetings are held throughout the year where members can discuss matters of mutual interest. In addition the Association encourages representation of BMPCA members at major international trade fairs.

Commercial enquiries from the UK and overseas, are monitored by BMPCA staff and relevant items are forwarded to BMPCA members who can supply the relevant equipment or engineering solutions.

The BMPCA is the ideal point of contact for metal companies seeking specific products or services used in metal processing and manufacture of iron, steel or non ferrous metals.
